Dena Joyce Walton Bailey, 85, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at her home.
The eldest daughter of Thomas Frederick Walton and Georgia Weldon Yeary "Skeet" Walton.
Dena Joyce was born April 1, 1931, in Electra.
She graduated from Electra High School and married Tommy Bailey in 1948.
She graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in education and taught at Monnig Middle School for 29 years before her retirement in 1998. She was a faithful and active member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was the matriarch of the Walton family and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Tommy Bailey, her granddaughter, Molly Morton; and her siblings, Weldon Walton and Paulette Marks.
Survivors: Daughter, Rebecca Morton of Fort Worth; grandson, Fred Morton and wife, Kellye, and their children, Sasha and Nathan; brother, Dwayne Walton; sister, Sally Beth Givens; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and cherished caretakers, Janet Gibbs ans Susanna Nava.
