Martha Swafford Alexander, 76, daughter of the late Ruth and Howard Walton, born June 17th, 1939, passed away in her home, in Lexington, Kentucky on September 24th, 2015. Affectionately referred to by many as, "Marty" she was a longtime employee of GTE. Martha was well known as an avid gardener with a flair for decorating. Adored by her family and friends, she led by example with a true servant’s heart, always putting others first. Wife of the late Joseph Alexander, and proud member of North Lexington Church of Christ, Martha lived her life as a committed Christian, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Martha is survived by her loving son, James Glenn Swafford; granddaughters, Courtney Sawyer and Wesley Deters; great-grandsons, Macklen, John Cooper, Wilford and Reid; and brothers, Larry and Bill Walton. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Kentucky.
