Peggy Jane Walsh Bell, 86, passed away peacefully from this life Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at a local nursing center surrounded by her loving family. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Peggy was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Joshua at the farm of her grandparents, Harry and Lucy Hill. She was the second of 13 children born to Blount and Helen Walsh. She lived all of her life in Fort Worth. Peggy married Raymond R. Bell 20 days after Pearl Harbor, and they were married for 56 years. She graduated from Central High School, now Paschal, in May of 1942. Peggy was a wonderful watercolor artist, created beautiful embroidery work, loved her plants and flowers and was a great cook. She worked in the insurance industry for 25 years. She was most proudly known for her love of her four children, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Peggy was a longtime member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church. She was active in the Woman's Club of Fort Worth, a member of the Eastern Star, Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Insurance Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Bill Rosenthal. Survivors: Daughter, Helen Bell Rosenthal of Benbrook; son, Raymond F. Bell and wife, Vicki, of Weatherford; daughter, Kathleen Bell Ware and husband, Jim, of Granbury; daughter, Barbara Bell Goetz and Dayson Goetz of Weatherford; grandchildren, Burk Rosenthal and wife, Julie, Robin Rosenthal, Paul Bell and Missy Ware Krippel and husband, Jeff, all of Fort Worth, Steven Bell and wife, Leighan, of Mineral Wells, John Ware and wife, Michele, and Bryan Strittmatter and wife, Angela, of Weatherford; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mary Ann Reaugh and husband, O.H., of Breckenridge, Helen Janice Cluck of Fort Worth, Margaret Walsh of Dallas, James B. Walsh and wife, Barbara, and Dr. Harry H. Walsh and wife, Sandra, of Houston.
