Black--On the afternoon of February 26, 1887, Mary A. Black, beloved wife of Michael F. Black and eldest daughter of Mary and the late Maurice Walsh. May she rest in peace.
Soon the storms shall beat
Over her slumbers from head to feet;
Soon the winds shall rave
In the long grass on her grave.
She shall not heed them where she lie,
Nothing their sounds shall signify;
Nothing the headstone fret of rain,
Nothing to her the dark day's pain.
Soon the sun shall shine
With tender warmth on that mount of thine;
Soon in summer air
Clover and violets will blossom there.
---By her husband
