Hazel E. Belka, 93, Neosho, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at St. John's Medical Center, in Joplin, following a short illness. She was born September 3, 1917, in Fairview, MO, to James E. and Hester Olive (Hurst) Wallace.
Mrs. Belka was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. She was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church and had worked in the thrift shop for many years.
Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, James Leroy Ledford, April 18, 1983. She married Lawrence C. Belka, December 23, 1985. Lawrence preceded her in death February 19, 2011.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Blakeley and husband, Claude, Neosho, MO; a son, Robert Ledford, Douglasville, GA; six grandchildren, Sheryl, Lisa, Tim, Nathan, Jason and Katie; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Forrest Wallace, Neosho, MO; and four sisters, Betty Ensor, Joplin, MO, Margaret Records, Neosho, MO, Yonavie Hierholzer, Neosho, MO, and Peggy Keatts, Joplin, MO.
