eighteen year resident of Oak Harbor, WA, and former Clearfield resident, died peacefully in her sleep at Whidbey Island Manor in Oak Harbor, on Valentines Day, Saturday, February 14, 2004.
Maj. Wallace was born in Clearfield on October 5, 1907, to Bishop Leslie and Louise (Moore) Wallace.
The family moved to Wynnewood when she as fifteen. She graduated from Mater Misericordia Academy in Merion and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. During World War II, Major Wallace was stationed in England with the Army Nurses Corps and was recalled during the Korean Conflict to serve at Fort Polk, LA. After her discharge from the Army, she worked at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Southern California and later became the Superintendent of Nurses at the Little Hospital of Mary in Torrance, CA. In 1986 she moved to Oak Harbor, on Whidbey Island, Washington State, where she enjoyed her later years of retirement.
Juliette never married, but had a close relationship with her immediated family.
She is survived by her sister in-law Patricia C. Wallace, Oak Harbor, WA
two nieces and a nephew, Mary LaClair Riordan, Crofton, MD Juliette L. Wallace, Hopewell, VA Andrew E. Wallace and wife Kathy, Fairfax, VA and their daughter Jaime
and great nephew Scott LaClair Nelson, Park City, UT
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother B. Leslie Wallace in 1991 and her sister Jane Wallace LaClair in 1966.
