Franklin D. "Jack" Wallace, 75 of Shippenville and formerly of Clearfield died on Dec. 3 at DuBois Regional Medical Center - West.
He was born on April 24, 1933 in Clearfield, a son of the late Jesse R. and Minnie (Woodling) Wallace.
Mr. Wallace retired in 1994 from Penelec where he was employed as a machinist at the Shawville Power Plant. Prior to that, he was a barber at the White Cross Barber Shop.
He attended the Manor United Methodist Church, Shippenville. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Clearfield Lodge #314, the Scottish Rite and the Shriner's Jaffa Temple. He also belonged to the Curwensville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 268, the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars F. Michael Sicks Post No. 1785, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 and the National Rifle Association. In addition, he was a member of the Clearfield Benevolent and Protective O. Elks Lodge No. 540, the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 812 and the Sinnemahoning Sportsman's Association.
A veteran of the US Army, he served during the Korean War.
He is survived by three sons, Steve Wallace and wife Vickie of Bethel Park Rodney Wallace and life partner Jean Nicholson of Denver, CO Robert Wallace of Raleigh, NC three granddaughters, Tira Wallace, Angela Hurley, April Petro two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Allison his companion, Rose Shirebine with whom he lived two brothers Jesse R. Wallace of Woodland Marvin Wallace of Hyde and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty' (Boyce) Wallace on Oct. 7, 1993 and whom he married April 7, 1956 in Erie, and two brothers, Norman and Richard Wallace.
Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 31785 Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-10:00 a.m. A Masonic memorial service will be said at the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
