Virginia W. "Ginny" Bumbarger, 89 of Clearfield, died on Friday, June 9, 2006 at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born May 21, 1917 in Clearfield, PA the daughter of Gerald Frank and Mary Virginia Lyn (Gallaher) Wallace, Sr.
Mrs. Bumbarger had worked in retail sales, and had been employed as a legal secretary in New York City and Clearfield. She was a mother and a homemaker.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Clearfield. She also belonged to the Clearfield Chapter #379 Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, and a member of Clearfield Golden Bisons, and AARP.
She is survived by five children Linda B. King of Olanta, Donald Lee Bumbarger and his wife Priscilla of Bloomington, Mary Ann B. Shields and her companion John P. Guthridge of Clearfield, Harold L. Bumbarger II and his wife Christine of Clearfield, and Gerald C. "Gig" Bumbarger and his wife Terri M. of Clearfield. She has nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold L. Bumbarger, a brother Gerald Frank Wallace, Jr., a sister Elizabeth "Bette" Wallace Kenyon, two son-in-laws: James T. Shields and Melvin L. King.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 8:30 P.M. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Pastor Todd Hogue officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until the hour of services at 8:30 P.M. The Clearfield Chapter #379 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service on Tuesday at 6:45 P.M..
