Jacqueline Louise Butler (Walker) loving Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.

"Jackie" was born April 1, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the eldest child of two children born to Raymond and Louise (Brown) Walker. She attended St. Louis City Public Schools and Sumner High School.

She married Charles Herbert Butler in 1946. Five children were born of this union. Jacqueline was fondly known as "Jackie" by friends and family.

After being a homemaker for many years and working in her church, Most Holy Rosary. She was persuaded by her friend and neighbor June Dugas to enter the Political arena. She did and became the first African-American Committee Woman of the 21st Ward. She became a dominant Political force in her community, ward, city and state for Democratic Policies and Politics. She was selected to be the first Black Vice-Chair for the State Democratic Party. Jackie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. Peter Claver and the Modern Misses. Jacqueline was a friendly, loving "little lady" who went out of her way to assist those in need, whatever the circumstance.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Veda Butler Nami, spouse Majeed; Son, Charles "Mokey" Butler, spouse Mary Beth; Son, Bryant Butler, spouse Cherita, Son, Paul Butler; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, Sister, Mary Ann Taylor, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, cousin, a very special friend Edythe Granberry and dear dear lifelong friend and neighbors. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Her husband Charles H. Butler and daughter Cheryl Butler Johnson preceded her in death.
