Services for Curtis J. Walker Sr., 96, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Ernest S. Sterling Memorial Chapel with Superintendent Noel Caldwell officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cem-etery in Tyler under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Mr. Walker died Nov. 6, 2012, in Tyler.
He was born April 18, 1916, in Pittsburg to the late James Walker and Place Thompson-Walker.
He attended Pittsburg public schools and was a resident of Smith County more than 70 years. He was a Baptist and veteran of the U.S. Army, private first class, and received the Good Conduct Medal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Edwards-Walker; four brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include a son, Curtis J. (Sandra Kay) Walker Jr.; daughter, Florine Williams; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
