Funeral services for George Clinton (G.C.) Walker, Jr. 88, of Rogers will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday April 15, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene in Temple with Rev. Phillip Gunter and Rev. Don Boesel officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. at IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mr. Walker died Saturday at his residence.
Mr. Walker was born in Milam County on February 23, 1920 to George Clinton "Clint" Walker, Sr. and Eula Lee McClellen Walker. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1937 and served in the U.S. Army in the German occupation of World War II in 1945. He married Elizabeth Ann "Beth" White on January 1, 1955 in Hamlin, Texas. He was a member and Trustee of the First Church of the Nazarene since 1963. He was the owner of Walker Honey Company, having retired in 1994 after 60 years in the bee business. He was a member of the American Beekeeping Federation since 1950, where he served as president in 1980 and 1981. He was appointed by the United States Secretary of Agriculture to several terms on the National Honey Board nominations committee. He was also past president of the Texas Beekeeper's Association, having been a member since 1942. He also served as a trustee of the Academy ISD School Board. He served as representative to the Texas Education Agency, Region 12 Board and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Eula Walker and three brothers, Mac Walker, Ed Walker and Raymond Walker.
Survivors include his wife Beth Walker of Rogers, son and daughter-in-law Clint III and Janice Walker of Temple; daughter Ann Walker of Dallas, daughter and son-in-law Jan and Phillip Gunter of Round Rock and niece/daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and J. Michael Crabtree of Oklahoma City; four beloved grandchildren, Clinton Walker IV, Austin Gunter, Jonathan Walker and Lauren Gunter: one sister and brother-in-law Becky and Melvin Pierce of Oklahoma City

Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Monday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
