This is the obituary from the Wood County Daily Sentinel Tribune of November 02, 1931.
JAMES B. WALKER SUDDENLY CALLED
James B. Walker, 75, oil man known throughout Wood county, was stricken with heart failure Saturday afternoon at 4:30, while presenting a Republican circular at the home of Walter June on South Main street and died almost immediately.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at Young's chapel and burial will be at Wayne beside the grave of his daughter Blaine. The services will be in charge of the Odd Fellows and Rev. W.H. Willison will officiate.
He was born on September 15, 1856, near Old Fort, Seneca County, the son of Joseph and Sylvia Ann Walker, but most of his life had been spent in Wood County. For 21 of these years he worked as a pumper in the oil fields. Twelve years ago he and his wife removed to Bowling Green; and their residence is at 444 South Church street.
On October 14, 1881, he was united in marriage with Miss Safrona Bockey at Bowling Green and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary only a couple of weeks ago. She and these two children survive him: James Clayton Walker (Clate), of Mungen; and Ethel, wife of Clifford McCray, of Elgin, Pa. He also leaves five grandchildren, Verl Clayton and Stanley Ray Walker, and Roger, James and Cynthia McCray.
"Jimmy" was the affectionate name given him by a host of friends who knew him as a courageous, loyal friend, a conscientious citizen who had high regard for the rights of his fellow man, and an ardent Republican who was always interested in the success of his party and interested in good, clean government.
Rest in Peace.
