AUGUSTA-
Samuel Richard Walker, a retired contractor, passed away on Monday, Sepember 7, 2015, at the age of 84. He reached his goal and has received his reward on Heaven's bright shore. A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service.

Mr. Walker was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Harvey Lee Walker, Sr. and Sally Smith Walker. He had resided in Augusta since 1977. A proud United States Marine, he served during the Korean Conflict. A general contractor by trade, he was a member of the Homebuilders Association in Augusta. Mr. Walker was a faithful member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Evans, Georgia, where he served on the building committee and the Board of Trustees. He also taught Sunday School in Columbia, Charleston, and Evans churches. In his early years, he was a disc jockey for a Christian radio station. He loved to sing, play the piano, and preach. He was predeceased by four siblings.

Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Walker are his loving and devoted wife of sixty five years, Pearl Brooks Walker of Augusta; his children,Samuel Franklin Walker of Augusta, and Richard K. Walker (Dianna) of Evans; his grandchidlren, Samuel Jacob Walker of Atlanta, Christian Brooks Walker (Kelsey) of Evans, Whitney Louise Walker of Evans, William Richard Walker (Laurah) of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Elizabeth Walker Simons (Josh) of Norfolk, Virginia; his siblings, Naomi Hagan (Floyd) of CSHC campground, Pat Arceneaux (Paul) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Dian Cease (Carroll) of Hanahan, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
