NAUGATUCK — Ruth Gates Lester, 98, entered into heavenly rest Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. Ruth was a loving mother, enjoyed playing cards, cooking and baking. Ruth was born Saturday, Oct. 9, 1915, in Bridgeport, the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Mary Walker.
In death, Ruth will be reunited with her husband, the late Earl Franklin Lester, and Walter Walker. Ruth is also survived by a son, Earl Lester and wife, Marie Lester; two daughters, Mary Keeler and Aseneth Merced; grandchildren Eugene Salvatore and wife, Maureen, Alberto Matthew Merced and wife Alina, Michael Salvatore and wife Lisa, Christopher Lester, Thomas Lester and Kimberly Merced; great-grandchildren Joey Richmond, Erin Richmond, Alex Vieira, Linsey Vieira, Haley Lester, Karl Chludinsky, Matthew Merced and Jacob Irizarry; and great-great-grandchildren Trayce Richmond and Elle Lester.
