Gladys Inez Walker, 91, of the Friendship community near Buckholts died Oct. 13 in a Bartlett nursing home. The Rev. Derald Dugger will officiate at her funeral Thursday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 6, 1912 in Granger to Monroe and Emma Kelly. She was a homemaker and member of the Val Verde Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Byrd Walker, in 1978.

She is survived by daughters Emma Lou Jinks of Dallas and Gloria Deann Gruver of Galveston; sister Opal Walker of Buckholts; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
