Masters - Mrs. Martha Masters, one of the oldest ladies in Jessamine County, died at the home of her son, Mastin (Matthew) Masters, in Nicholasville Sunday, February 7. She was born in this county in 1820, and was a woman of many excellent traits of character.
In 1837 she was married to Madison Masters, her maiden name being Walker. Eight children were the result of that union, four of whom are living, as follows: Messrs. Mose and Mastin (Matthew), of Nicholasville and Harvey and Madison, of Lexington.
Since her early life Mrs. Masters had been identified with the Christian Church, to which denomination she was ever loyal. The funeral services were conducted from the Christian Church Sunday afternoon by Elder James Vernon.
