Roger E. Walker, Sr. died Sunday ()ct.1, 1995) in a Tyler, Texas, hospital. He was 72 years old.
He was born May 13, 1923 in Wauneta, Nebr. Early in his career he worked for a McCook newspaper.He lived in Tyler,Tex. where he was a retired publisher of the Henderson Daily News.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II where he was a bomber pilot. He was shot down in Germany and was a 13 month POW.He operated a flight school in Henderson.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Walker of Tyler; two sons, Roger Walker Jr., Riverside, Calif., and Scott Walker, Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Jo Carol Hunnicutt, Tyler, and Dr. Pam Walker of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; three stepsons, Jim McMillian of Durham, N.C.. David McMillian of Houston, Texas, adn Ron McMillian of Austin, Texas; a stepdaughter, Jennifer McMillian of Tulsa, Okla; a sister, Mary Margaret O'Brian of McCook and five step grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel in Tyler. Burial will be in Cathedral In The Pines in Tyler.
