It is possible that Benjamin was a brother of Thomas Walker born 1831, a publican of "British Volunteer Hotel" in Greytown, died 1904 in Greytown and Enoch Walker born 1840, a bootmaker of Wellington and then Woodville, also buried here ...

In December 1893 Benjamin had the Britannia Hotel (presumably Woodville) as an article in the EVENING POST stated that 'Eastwood was fined 1s at Woodville for presenting an unloaded revolver at the crowd in the street. Benjamin Walker, licensee of the Britannia Hotel, stated that accused and his wife and child had stayed at his hotel for some time past. Eastwood paid his way and conducted himself respectably.
