Born to Jasper Houston and Julia Ann (Dupuy) Walden. Married Frank Hignite. Had 2 daughters, Gaytha Vaye and Vanda Mae, an older son, Verlon, by a previous relationship. A staunch Christian and church goer who tried to live by the Bible in all her daily living. Played guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle and sang. She was a great mother,home cook and housekeeper.
