Maudell Menser, 84, of Lynden, WA, passed away peacefully in a Lynden care center.
Maudell was born August 13, 1926 in Van Buren, MO, to J.B. and Bonnie Lee Wakefield. The family moved to Whatcom County when she was a young girl. Maudell graduated from Lynden High School and McDonald's Beauty School in Bellingham.
She married Vernon D. Menser on July 1, 1947, and they lived in Ferndale and later in the rural Lynden area until moving to Lynden Manor in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son, Scott.
Survivors include her daughters, Jan (Ken) Kok and Claudia (Alan) Brim; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Time spent with family was always a priority; Maudell was a wonderful Mom and Grandma. She was always involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her interests over the years have been many and varied including swimming, walking, sewing, knitting, gardening, canning, and reading.
She had a deep love for Jesus and great appreciation for the world He created as well as the many friends He had given her. She was a blessing to all who knew her. We miss you, Mom, but also rejoice that now you are free and in the presence of Jesus.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials are preferred to Whatcom Hospice Foundation, 2901 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham 98225, or to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
