Goldie Marie Collins, 83, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Heritage House Convalescent Center.

Born May 2, 1918, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of George W. and Emma (Martin) Wainscott. She married Elmer Cletus Collins on May 16, 1937, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2000.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Patricia) Huntsman Corley of Shelbyville; two sisters, Mrs. Marlin (Violet) Ray of Manilla and Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Gobel of Shelbyville; one brother, Richard Wainscott of Shelbyville; one granddaughter, Penney Brown of Columbus; and two great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Bean and Christopher Bean, both of Columbus.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Mrs. Collins was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 50-year member of Fairland Order of Eastern Star No. 357.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., with the Rev. Paul Landwelen officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
