Melanie Wade Lancaster, 47,daughter of Gerald D. and Barbara Hall Wade, of South Third Street, died unexpectedly September 4, 2008 from an aneurism. She was a former employee of Farmers Bank for thirteen years prior to starting a lawn care business with her father where she became known as the best looking lawn jockey. She was a gymnast and cheerleader for Jessamine Co. High School, Class of 1978. Additional survivors include her sister Tammie Wade (Jerry) Jones-Nicholasville, her best friend and love of her life, Troy Seale, a step daughter, Angela Lancaster (Brian) Johnson-Lexington, a niece, Paige Renee Morton-FL, a nephew, Jason Wade Morton-FL, a sister in law, Patty Haney-Versailles, many other relatives and cherished friends, her beloved pets, "her children" Dashie and Hawkie. Services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Barnes and Rev. Rob Clark officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Betts & West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be on Friday at Lighthouse Baptist Church from 2:00-8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM-1:00PM at the church.
