Ina England, 97, of Presho, died Saturday, February 12 at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. Services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, February 15 at American Lutheran Church in Presho with visitation beginning one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Murdo City Cemetery
Ina Marie Wachter was born on December 13, 1913, at the family farm in Midland, SD, to Herman and Mertie (Kaiser) Wachter. She attended country school close to their farm. She worked at Rex's Cafe in Murdo, SD until her marriage to Curt England on March 3, 1947. They spent all their married life in Lyman County in the construction business.
Ina spent a lot of her time cooking delicious meals for her family. Her favorite thing was to be around friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She and her brother Kelly enjoyed gardening together and tending to her flowers. Ina was baptized and attended the Lutheran Church. She was a member of Eastern Star for over fifty years.
Ina is survived by two sons: Roy and his wife, Leah and George and special friend, Diane, all of Presho; three grandchildren: Kayla England and Mark Henderson of Breckenridge, CO, Corey England and Jenna Giefer of Rapid City and Jon England of Presho; great-grandson, Kyler England of Rapid City; special extended family: Mary Swedlund, Heather and Sarah Stanley; two sisters: Hazel Ellis and Dorice VanVorst; three brothers: Mike, Herman Jr. (Bernadine) and Louis (Pat); and one sister-in-law, Doris Ann Wachter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mertie Wachter; husband, Curt England; daughter, Judy England; granddaughter, Tracy England; two sisters: Cleone Eckert and Florence Wachter; and seven brothers: Harold "Kelly", Clifford, Robert, Russell, Donald, Edward and Kenneth.
