Lester C. Wicke, 45, of 1315 Division St., Manitowoc, transport truck operator,
died Saturday afternoon at Speers Hospital, Denver, Colo., where he had been a
patient four weeks.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at at (sic) Emanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Ninth and Pine Streets, Manitowoc. The Rev. T.F. Uetzman will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Wicke was born May 16, 1911, at Caroline, Wis., son of the late Louis and
Anna Zastrow Wicke. He married Vernette Nohr Sept. 1, 1937, and the couple came
to Manitowoc 13 years ago where Mr. Wicke was employed as a driver for Clipper
City Transit Co.
Surviving him are his wife, a daughter, and two sons (Survivors omitted for
privacy.); and two brothers, Louis of Grafton and Harold, of Watertown.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 7 p.m. Tuesday until
11 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church to lie in state
until the hour of service.
