"Marie J. Wheelock, age 77, of 219 W. Menasha Avenue, Whitelaw, died Monday
morning, May 16, 2011, at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc,
after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
"She was born on July 10, 1933, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Louis and
Evelyn (Korbel) Roedig. On June 10, 1951, she married Paul F. Wheelock at St.
Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. After Paul's death in August of 1988, Marie was
employed with Service Master for nine years until her retirement due to her
health.
"Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: David & Jean Wheelock, Manitowoc;
two daughters and sons-in-law: Kathi & Keith Borgwardt, Whitelaw, Susan & Jerry
Bruechert, Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Julia (Joseph) Gagner, Jonathan
(Robin) Borgwardt; five great grandchildren: Trenton, Nevaeh, Abigail, Ava and
Bently; two sisters and three brothers-in-law: Rosie & Robert Burich, Cheryl &
Orville Newman, Melvin Zimmerman, all of Manitowoc; and one brother and
sister-in-law: Carl & Darlene Roedig, Scottsville, Michigan. She is further
survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in
death by an infant sister: Jane Marie; a brother: Louis Roedig Jr. and a sister:
Elaine Zimmermann.
"A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at The
Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be
Theresa Ruelle. Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center,
Manitowoc, and Marie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a
later date."
