THERESA M. WETENKAMP

Mrs. Albert Wetenkamp, 79, of route 4, Manitowoc, mother of Manitowoc Fire Chief, Reuben Wetenkamp, died Wednesday night at Holy Family hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Wetenkamp, the former Miss Theresa Meyer, was born in 1871 in the town of Manitowoc Rapids and was married to Albert Wetenkamp in 1890. The couple settled on a farm before taking over the operation of a tavern in Manitowoc Rapids in 1906. After her husband’s death in 1930, Mrs. Wetenkamp sold the
tavern in 1932 but continued to make her home in the building. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society of Gjerpen Riverside church, town of Cato.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, Manitowoc, Rev. N. A. Berntson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Manitowoc.
She is survived by six sons, Harry of route 1, Manitowoc, Elder of route 5, Manitowoc, Lester of route 4, Manitowoc, and Albert Jr., Herbert and Reuben, all of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Murry of Milwaukee and Mrs. Minnie Jebavy of Two Rivers; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Friday, Jan. 26, until the time of services.
