Maria was the daughter of John Fletcher (death 1828) and Susanna (Hoar) Fletcher, 1770-1821. She was baptized 2 May 1819 at the English Presbyterian Church, Columbia, Lancaster Co. Her sister Elizabeth Fletcher, 1818-1884 married David W Hildebrand and lived in the area of Earl Twp. Her brother Robert C Fletcher, 1816-1883, was husband of Sarah Lont. Robert moved to Philadelphia between 1850-1860, and was a Civil War Veteran, Co I, 91st Reg, PA Infantry.
After the death of her widowed father, Maria's uncle Robert Hoar was appointed guardian.
Obituary: 'Mrs. Maria Weaver, widow of the late Benjamin F. Weaver, of Salisbury township, died at her home near Pequea Presbyterian church, on Friday evening of last week, at the advanced age of eight-one years, six months & fourteen days. Deceased had been failing in health for some time and recently had several strokes of apoplexy which hastened her death. Mrs. Weaver was an estimable woman. Devoted to her family, always busy yet a hospitable entertainer and very cheerful in her disposition. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church of this place for many years. Her husband died nearly two years ago and she is survived by four sons, Jonathan H., of this place; John Adam, who lived with his mother; Benjamin F., of Philadelphia, and Martin Luther, of Chicago, and one daughter, Annie, wife of Isaac Mason, of White Horse. The funeral of the deceased was held on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from her late home and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. Rev.
