Harry J. Wagner, 57, of 1440 N. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died at 10:40 p.m. Friday
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was taken after suffering a heart
attack earlier in the day.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
and at 9 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. E.A. Radey
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Wagner was born Sept. 29, 1903, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Gust and
Katherine Felber Wagner Kummer. As a boy he moved with his parents to Minocque,
Oneida County, where he attended elementary and high school. After his graduation
he moved to Manitowoc, where he has been employed since 1923 by Aluminum Specialty
Co. At the time of his death he was foreman in charge of the metal department at
that company.
He married Myrtle Splitt Oct. 18, 1930, at Manitowoc. He was a member of the
Manitowoc Barbershoppers and in his youth played He also was active in basketball
and football. A brother, Sidney, of Chicago, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlein, at home; a brother, William, of
Green Bay; a step-brother, Edwin Kummer, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, and two sisters,
Mrs. Ann Zinkel, of Marathon, and Mrs. Leon Kascargent, of Detroit.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the Rosary will
be recited at 7:45 p.m. by members of the parish.
