Frank Vorwerk Dies At Dodgeville, Iowa
Funeral to Be Today
Last rites for Frank Vorwerk, 84-year-old retired farmer, who died at his home in Dodgeville Sunday morning (June 18, 1933), will be held at St. Mary's Catholic church there at 9 o'clock this morning with burial in St. Mary's cemetery.
Mr. Vorwerk was born in Oldenberg, Germany, February 21, 1849, the son of Nichols and Christina Grabe Vorwerk, and came to the United States 64 years ago. After living in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a year he came to Burlington, where he lived for six years. He then moved to a farm west of Dodgeville and lived in that vicinity from that time on.
Mr. Vorwerk was married to Miss Mary Beckman at St. John's Catholic church, Burlington, September 25, 1877, by his brother, the Reverend Lawrence Vorwerk, and the couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary in 1927. He was a member of St. Mary's church, Dodgeville.
Surviving are his widow, three sons, Lawrence of Dodgeville, Nicholas of Burlington and John of Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Panther and Mrs. Helen Siefken, both of Dodgeville; 43 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death.
