M. Lynnette (Molly) Olin, a retired Lewiston teacher, died of cardiac arrest Monday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. She was 62.
She was born Nov. 9, 1929, to Floyd and Ava Lou Lewis Vorous at Lewiston. She grew up and attended schools at Clarkston, graduating from Clarkston High School in 1948.
She married Wayne Olin on Aug. 4, 1951, at Clarkston. The couple lived at Lewiston since their marriage.
Olin attended Washington State University at Pullman for a short time. She then attended the North Idaho College of Education at Lewiston and taught school for three years on a special permit, until her daughter was born.
She later returned to school at Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston. After graduation in 1965, she taught for 15 years in Lewiston schools, the last three years teaching remedial reading. She retired in 1982.
Olin was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter Q, a former member of the Lewiston Welfare League and was a Pi Phi affiliate at WSU.
She enjoyed quilting, doing crafts, spending time at Lake Coeur d'Alene, traveling the Oregon coast and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; a daughter, Cindy; a son, Brett M.; two brothers, Robert and Raymond; a sister, Shirlie; two grandsons and a stepgrandson.
Her father preceded her in death.
