Marjorie Voorhies, 81, Mitchell, died at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at White River Lodge in Bedford.

She was born July 28, 1927, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Charles & Ruth (Mundy) Wagoner.

She was a restaurant worker; a member of Dive Christian Church; a lifetime member of Mitchell American Legion Post No. 250 Ladies Auxiliary; and a lifetime member of the Bedford Boat Club.

Survivors include four sons, John David Voorhies and wife Leah of Mitchell, Denny Voorhies and wife LaDonna of Bedford, Danny Voorhies and wife Dianna of Bedford, and Dean "Bo" Voorhies and wife Dori of Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Milligan and Phyllis Hill, both of Bedford.

She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Voorhies, two grandsons, Nathan Voorhies and K.P. Voorhies, two sisters, Gladys Nikirk and Mary Boling; and one brother, Harold Wagoner.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
