FATALLY STRICKEN ON WAY TO CHURCH
Mrs. Edgar Von Steuben Was About to Attend Dorcas Meeting
Stricken as she was about to enter Grace Lutheran Church, East Broad Street, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to attend a meeting of the Dorcas Society, Mrs. Edgar Von Steuben, 225 East Union Street, died of a heart condition.
Mrs. Von Steuben, long a devout member of the church and the Dorcas Society, was going to help prepare supplies for the Red Cross and St. Luke's Hospital in which work the organization is engaged. Her death shocked her many friends and the meeting was adjourned immediately out of respect. Dr. D. F. Bachman, Northampton County Coroner, issued a certificate of death.
Mrs. Von Steuben was born Laura King, daughter of Henry and Anna M. Young King, in Bethlehem Township.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Clarence E. and Raymond Von Steuben, and a daughter, Mrs. John Gradwohl, and three grandchildren, all of Bethlehem.
Rev. Dr. J. Howard Worth, pastor of Grace Lutheran, will officiate at services at 2 p.m. Saturday at the late home, and interment will be made in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown.
