Mrs. Cogan passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Madonna Vogel was born on November 13, 1921, in Ottumwa, Iowa, a daughter of John and Ellen Vogel. She was united in marriage to John A. Cogan in 1960. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1989.
Prior to raising a family, Madonna was a personal secretary at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the Rock Island Arsenal.
Madonna was deeply devoted to her faith. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed helping people in need and loved her friends at Garner Farms.
Madonna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Tonya Cogan, Prescott, Wis.; grandchildren, Mckenzie, Kyle and Marisa; stepchildren, Sally Cerney, Jack Cogan and Kathleen Knaphus; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and she was a friend to all and adopted mother to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings (Margret Knolls, sister; Joe Vogel, brother; Mary Anne Earley, sister; John Vogel, brother; and Leo Vogel, brother). May they rest in peace.
