PEKIN ~ Twila W. Burdess, 84, of 26153 Countess Lane, Bonita Springs, FL, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Physicians Regional Medical Center, in Naples, FL. She was formerly of Pekin.
Born May 9, 1928, in Litchfield, to Harry E. and Nova (Calvert) Virden.
She married Robert E. Bob Burdess, Sr. on August 2, 1947 in Galesburg. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert E. (Margaret) Burdess, Harold J. (Martha) Burdess and Mark W. Burdess; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and one sister.
A homemaker, she loved being with her family and helping her friends. Twila was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, in Groveland.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 18040 Unsicker Road, in Groveland. The Rev. Dr. Steven E. Hauter will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin and also from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, in Pekin.
