Mrs. Clark was born in Fondulac, Wis., Feb. 27, 1838, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Vincent. She received her education there and as a young girl moved to this city with her parents. In 1857 she was married to Richard A. Clark of this city, a well known tinsmith for many years employed by the firm of Gates and Spratt. Mr. Clark will be remembered by the older residents of the city as a musician of rare ability. He was leader of the choir of the Arsenal street Methodist Episcopal church for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Clark resided on Stone street.
Mrs. Clark was converted to the Methodist church at a revival held in the old Arsenal street Methodist church in 1847, when Rev. James Erwin was pastor. Since that time she had been a devoted member of the church and was an earnest and faithful worker.
Surviving Mrs. Clark are three sons, Charles V. Clark of New York city, Frank S. Clark and Amasa Clark, also of this city; and three daughters, Mrs. May Marsh and Mrs. Fred Porter of this city and Mrs. Mary Kendall of Boston, Mass.
Funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Porter at 617 Boyd street, Monday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. A. R. Lambert, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church will officiate. Interment will be made at Brookside cemetery.
