Helen Teixeira, 89, of Pukalani, Maui, passed away on October 7, 2013 in California.
She was born on March 7, 1924 in Lahaina, Maui to Joseph and Annie Villaverde. She graduated from Lahainaluna High School and worked as a telephone operator prior to her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Ben Teixeira, Jr. on September 11, 1943.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her 10 brothers and sisters and her husband of 48 years.
She is survived by her three children, Tom (Sandi) Teixeira, Linda (Victor) Petta, and Jerry Teixeira; her grandchildren, Ryan (Sherry) Petta, Malia (TJ) Booth; and great-grandchildren, Elise, Gavin, Layla, and Brayden.
She moved to Sacramento in 2011 to be near family after living in Hawaii for 87 years.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Makawao, Mass at 11 a.m. burial 12 noon at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery.
