Martha was the the wife of Joseph F. Mulligan. Together they had 5 children together. William, Joseph, James, John, and Eileen. She had 13 grandchildren and four great grandkids. Her husband Joseph and grandson Joseph predeceased her.

Martha worked for the Haband Company for many years as a shipping clerk. A member of Elmwood Park's V.F.W. Post 5084 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of St. Leo's Church in Elmwood Park.

Martha was a dear friend of my mom's. She was a nice woman that was always laughing and smiling. She served her community doing work for her church as well as being a V.F.W. Ladies auxiliary member and past president. Martha and my mom shared a love for their country as well as the men and woman who fought for our freedom. Several times she served as the Ladies Auxiliary President while her son Willie was commander. I know this made her very proud to work with her son to help veterans in our town and surrounding communities.

Martha became a dear friend to me when I got older. She enjoyed having my mom and I drop by to see her and her dog Toto. She loved that dog. The last time I spoke with Martha she was forgetting a bit, but she remembered how much Toto enjoyed seeing my mom, and how much she missed her husband. I know now in heaven she is reunited with her Joe and her Toto.
