Edna Linda DePoalo, of Hudson, Fla. and Brasher Falls, N.Y., died suddenly on Monday, March 7, 2005 at Regional Med. Ctr., Bayonet Pt., Hudson, Fla.
Daughter of the late Julius and the late Julia Bernier Vidal, she was born August 24, 1932.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Daniel Edward DePoalo, on May 23rd 1949, and raised a family of five children.
She worked as a Correction Officer for Matawan Correctional Facility in Beacon, N.Y., and as a Therapy Aide for Mid Hudson Psychiatric Ctr., New Hampton, N.Y., from which she retired in 1984.
A family statement read: 'Cherished by family and friends for her endless love and devotion, Linda's life was a testament to hope, forgiveness and all the good the world has to offer. She saw wonder in the smallest of things, was grateful for each and every one of her days, and lived her life to the fullest with dignity, style, and compassion. Her energy and boundless optimism will be missed more than she could ever know. We will love her and grieve her passing forever.'
Surviving are husband: Daniel E. DePoalo at home; sons: John D. DePoalo of Utica, N.Y., Allen J. DePoalo of Brasher Falls, N.Y., Daniel E. DePoalo of Brasher Falls, N.Y.; daughter: Danielle Calder & her husband David of Sudbury, Mass.; brother: Al J. Vidal & his wife Florence of Staten Island, N.Y.; 7 grandchildren: Rick, Lorie, Tanya, Alana, Darleen, Allen, and Lynsie; 4 great-grandchildren: Brittany, Abigail, Colin, and Aidan; one niece Denise; and one nephew Ronald.
Predeceased son Rick DePoalo who died on June 25, 1989.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis, on Friday, March 11th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Funeral services on Friday, March 11th at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment immediately following.
She will rest for all of eternity with her beloved mother and son at the Manning Cemetery in Greenville.
