A homemaker and a resident of Greenwell Springs, she died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Summit Hospital. She was 58 and a native of Central. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., led by Deacon Phil Bejeaux. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Friday, celebrated by the Rev. Tom Duhe. Interment in Blackwater Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Stuart Vickers Sr. of Greenwell Springs; mother, Grace Carpenter of Central; a daughter, Lisa Vickers of Baton Rouge; a son, Stuart Vickers Jr. of Central; and two brothers, Ronald and Stephen Carpenter, both of Central. Preceded in death by her father, Norman L. Carpenter. She was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2807 and a devout member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
