His wife, Mrs. L. A. Vickers has a CSA widow's pension application on line in the Georgia Archives virtual vault. She says A.J. Vickers served with Company I of the 2nd Ga regiment until the Surrender of Johnson's Army in Raleigh, N. C. in April 1865. She proves his death on Sept 27, 190.
