Weekly Graphic, Kirksville, Mo. 2-17-1882: Sudden Death. Mr. Gaines Vice, an old gentleman, died suddenly at Sloan's Point on Friday night. He was a man well advanced in years and a widower. Himself and a son, who worked with him, had a room, which they occupied as a sleeping apartment, in the Pannabaker Mill. Friday they did a big day's chopping, and the old gentleman ate a harty supper and went to bed apparently in good health. Some time during the night his son heard him struggling, and on going to him found him in the death throes.
