She was named after her grandmother. She and her husband are buried next to her parents.







BARTON, MARY PAULINE VEAL - age 82 of Knoxville passed away Saturday March 17, 2012, at UT Medical Center surrounded by family. She was a long time member of Central Baptist Church Bearden where she exemplified the love of Christ to her family and friends by serving in activities and ministries such as the church library, FISH Ministry, Vacation Bible School, the Preschool Department, and Mission work in South Dakota and Montana. She was a graduate of the Central High School Class of 1947, as well as a graduate of The University of Tennessee and a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Pauline also was active serving on the CHS class of 1947 reunion committee. She taught preschool for 14 years. Pauline is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years William D. Barton, Jr. and her parents Louis David Veal and Gladys Goldberg Veal. She is survived by her sons and their wives William D. Barton, III and Donna of Knoxville, and Robert Barton and Wanda of Wilmington, Delaware; daughter Barbara Leach and husband Steven of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Beth and husband Chris Voss, Andy and Wife Jackie Leach, David Barton, Laura and husband Lee Cottrell, Amy Barton, and Stephanie Paris; great grandchildren, Meredith and Meg Voss, and Owen and Grant Leach; sister Louise Poates and husband Lewis Poates; brother Louis David Veal, Jr. and wife Tracy; beloved nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and cousins. Memorials may be made to the Yellowstone Baptist College, 1515 S. Shiloh Road, Billings, MT 59106, or the FOCUS Group Ministries, 6300 Deane Hill Dr. Knoxville, TN 37919. Services celebrating Pauline's life will be held on Tuesday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
