Oklahoma City — Charles C. Veal, 71, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born March 2, 1937, in Eves City to Harry and Virginia (Richardson) Veal.
Charles grew up in Healdton and graduated from Healdton High School in 1955. After high school, he attended the University of Oklahoma and then joined the United States Army Reserves. During his time in the reserves, he served as a tank commander. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1958 and worked for Mistletoe Express for several years.
In 1969 Charles moved back to Healdton and was employed by OG&E in construction and as a lineman, until he retired in 1994. He loved the outdoors and activities that included hunting and fishing, and he was a horse enthusiast. Charles was of the Pentecostal faith, a scout leader and loved to travel.
Preceding him in death are his parents; one son, David Lee Veal; and one brother, Harry K. Veal.
Survivors are his wife, Brenda Veal, of the home; three sons, Danny Veal and wife, Gina, of Healdton, Don Veal and wife, Melissa, of Ada, Charlie and Thoy Carter, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Belinda Hand and husband, Jason, of Piedmont; sister, Jinny Veal, of Colorado; 16 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon. Private interment. Arrangements are under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon.
