Ruth Delphine Baier, the daughter of Harvey and Sarah Love Vaux, was born Sept. 28, 1905 at Pocahontas, Ia. She received her education there, graduating from the Pocahontas High School. In 1927 she moved to Sioux Rapids with her parents and was employed in the dentist's office. She then worked for Iowa Electric Company until 1930.
She was united in marriage to LaMont Baier on Aug. 9, 1930 at the "Little Brown Church in the Vale" in Nashua, la.
They made their home at Peterson, la. and became the parents of two sons, Jerad and Eugene. A nephew, James Rosendahl made his home with Baier while finishing his schooling in Peterson.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Peterson and a charter member of Women's Society and had served as treasurer.
She worked for Iowa Electric for a total of 15 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the Senior Citizens at Peterson and had served that organization also as treasurer.
She passed away at the hospital in Spencer, la. on July 12, 1984 at the age of 78.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1977 , one brother and two sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons and their wives, [redacted] of Sioux Rapids, [redacted], eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Edith Siglin of Weslaco, Texas, her nephew, [redacted] of Peterson, other nieces and nephews and additional relatives and friends.
