Mrs. Carolyn Vaughan Alexander, age 71, of Houston, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 in the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was born September 9, 1939 in Houston County, Texas and had been a resident of Houston since 1963. Mrs. Alexander was a housewife and a member of the Oak Forest Baptist Church in Houston.

Survivors include husband, Johnny Alexander of Houston; son, Robin Alexander of Houston; grandchildren Jessica "J. J." Alexander of Magnolia; brother, Glen H. Vaughan of Kennard; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceded in death by son, Randy Alexander; parents, Charlie and Mary Lee Vaughan and sister-in-law, Janet Vaughn.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Vaughan Alexander will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Oak Forest Baptist Church in Houston with Rev. Richard Walters officiating. Graveside funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Corinth Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Forest Baptist Church c/o Music Department.
