WEST CHAZY — Ada E. Vassar, 87, of West Chazy passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born July 14, 1925, in Chazy Landing, the daughter of Tuffield and Eva (Martin) Pearo. She loved to watch birds, gardening and nature. She also enjoyed reading.
Ada was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Maynard Vassar; one son, Daniel Vassar; one brother and four sisters.
Survivors include one son, Gregory Vassar and his companion, Vicki Tomkiewicz of West Chazy; one daughter, Gretchen LaDue and her husband Orville of Mooers; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a daughter in-law, Norma Vassar.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy.
Arrangements are in the care of the Ross Funeral Home, 2586 Route 11 Mooers.
