| Birth: | Nov. 5, 1924 | | Death: | Jul. 2, 2005 |  Elsie Winifred Vass Rowley, 80, of Richmond passed into eternal life on Saturday, July 2, 2005. She retired after 22 years from the American Tobacco Company. She was co-owner and operator, along with her husband, from 1966-1970 of Elsies Restaurant in Gordonsville. From 1981-1986, Dew Drop Inn, in Scottsville, and from 1977-2005, The Rock Shop in Amelia. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ralph E. Rowley; two sons, Robert Melton of Mechanicsville, and Lee Melton of Aylett; a daughter, Evelyn "Eve" Macauley of Highland Springs; a sister, Evelyn Robertson of Richmond; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Road, where the family will receive friends 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, and where services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5. Interment Riverview Cemetery.
