Arthur Vasquez LUBBOCK-Rosary for Arthur Vasquez, 66, of Lubbock will be today at 7 p.m. in Broadway Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Jose Mora officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. Arthur went to be with the Lord On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014. He was born on May 8, 1948, in Laredo, Texas, to Josefina Vasquez, who preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1984. Arthur married Antonia Rivera on Aug. 3, 1969, in Lubbock. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1967. He attended Texas Tech; he worked for Sears as a sales clerk, Trice Electronics, and the United States Department of Agriculture, where he was a cotton grader from 1990 till 2010 and retiring. He owned and operated a small retail store. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricardo Vasquez Survivors include his wife of Lubbock; a son, Richard and wife Angelica Vasquez of Lubbock; two daughters, Erica and husband Joseph Morales of Lubbock, Monica and husband Kenneth Adams of Lubbock; a nephew, Rick Perez; and a niece, Rosalinda Garcia, both of Lubbock; two sisters, Magda Arguijo and Mary Aguirre, both of Lubbock; and eight grandchildren.
