Bessie Lee Vardaman
Bessie Lee Vardaman, 93, Shelbyville, died Wednesday at Waldron Health Care Home, Waldron.
Born on Oct. 13, 1905, in Memphis, Mo., she was the daughter of John and Lucinda (Hodge) Hartwell. She married Alva J. Vardaman on June 1, 1929, and he died on May 1, 1980.
She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, John Vardaman, Shelbyville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service with the Rev. Matt Chambers officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, with the Rev. Ben Gray officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
