Ethel Workman, 87, passed this life on Friday, Aug. 26 in Muskogee. She was born on Aug. 20, 1924 to Milton VanSickle and Bessie (SickleBower) VanSickle in Elk City. She has resided in Wagoner since 2000 following a move from Coffeyville, Kan. where she has spent most of her life. Ethel enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and being outdoors. One of her biggest joys in life was being able to spend time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Milton and Bessie; three brothers, Ardell, Albert Lee and Clarence "Bud" VanSickle. She is survived by her children; two sons, Russell Workman and wife, Susan, of Oklahoma City, and Doug Workman, from McAlester; one daughter, Denise Workman, of Wagoner; three sisters, Corene "Cork" Anderson, of Muskogee, Vera Casto, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Patricia Carnes, of Coffeyville, Kan., and three grandchildren, Susan, Matthew and Kristen, along with numerous other relatives and friends who are sure to miss her dearly. A memorial service for Ethel will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cindy Culver officiating.
